Food Pantry
What We Do
The Charity Guild Food Pantry distributes both perishable and non-perishable foods to individuals and families requesting assistance. Our inventory varies week to week and may include foods such as meat, eggs, milk, juice, bread, fresh fruit and vegetables, canned goods, cereal, pasta.
Address & Hours
We are located at 501 Main Street, Brockton, MA (at the corner of Main St. and Dover St.)
Food Pantry Hours:
Tuesday: 10:00am – 12:00pm* (noon)
Wednesday: 1:00pm – 2:30pm*
Thursday: 10:00am – 12:00pm* (noon)
*or until we reach our daily food supply limit

Requirements for Assistance
All are welcome. The Charity Guild does not have a Brockton residency requirement.
When you visit us you will meet our client liaisons, who speak English, Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole, and Spanish.
For your first visit, please bring a piece of mail (such as a utility bill or letter from the school department) with your family member’s names / shared address on it, if possible.
Examples of mail with your name and address on it:
- Utility Bill
- Mail from your child’s doctor office with their name and your shared address on it.
- Mail from your child’s school with their name and your shared address on it.
- If you are a caretaker, please bring a piece of mail that includes the name and address of person you are taking care of that lives with you.

While we are grateful to accept donations of food, we do like to explain that we can stretch your dollar further.

We truly appreciate it when our donors contact us to ask us what we need, as our food needs vary from week to week.

Volunteer at The Food Pantry
Volunteers help us achieve our mission of assisting those in our community who are experiencing food insecurity and in need of crucial household items. Dedicated volunteers are essential to the efficient running of our organization. We are looking for volunteers who can donate a couple of hours on the same day each week.
Please complete this form and email it to volunteer@thecharityguild.org to share your interest in becoming a volunteer. We offer early morning (for the early birds) and afternoon volunteer shifts.
Complete Community Service Hours
Students may be able to complete their required Community Service hours in The Food Pantry. Students younger than 18 must present a permission letter written by a parent, teacher, or mentor while completing their service. Please call at least two weeks in advance to discuss availability.
Give Back to The Community
We welcome businesses, organizations, and families looking to give back to our community with a day of volunteering. Please contact us to discuss upcoming availability.
How We Work
The Charity Guild Food Pantry is a proud member of The Greater Boston Food Bank. In addition to purchasing food through the Food Bank, we rescue and purchase fresh produce from local markets. Every week, we distribute food during our pantry hours as well as provide home deliveries to our homebound clients.
